Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, which is used to stop the so-called email spoofing where an email message can be sent from one address, but to seem as being sent from another, ordinarily with the objective to fraud the recipient someway. When SPF protection is enabled for a domain name, a special record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers globally receive it. The record contains all of the e-mail servers that are allowed to send authentic messages from an e-mail address under the domain. When a message is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and when its sending server is permitted, the message is forwarded to the targeted destination. In case, however, the sending server is not contained in the SPF record for the given domain, the email message won't be submitted and it'll be discarded. In case you employ this service, it will prevent third parties from sending spam that look as if they have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Shared Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for every domain hosted in a shared hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with no more than a couple of clicks. The feature can be found in the Emails section of our exceptional Hepsia Control Panel and all it takes to activate it is to choose one of your domains from the drop-down menu and to enter the hostnames plus the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the mail servers that will be permitted to send emails from your email addresses. As an additional option you may also restrict the email messages to be sent from your domain only if it has our MX records, i.e. when our servers manage the emails for it, not some third-party provider. This option gives you the highest degree of security, but it's not applicable if only your web site is on our servers while your emails for the domain are handled somewhere else. Either way, our SPF protection service will keep your email addresses risk-free from being used for spam or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

When you have a semi-dedicated server account from us, you'll be able to secure your email addresses by enabling the SPF protection service for any domain in your account with only a few mouse-clicks. This can be done through the Emails section of our Hepsia Control Panel which is included with the semi-dedicated accounts and even when you have no previous practical experience with such things, you will not have any kind of trouble to enable the security. Everything that you'll have to do will be to choose a domain from a drop-down menu then type the mail server hostname and IPv4 or IPv6 address. As soon as the updated record propagates, messages from your email addresses will be mailed worldwide only if they're sent from that specific server. When your email addresses are handled by our company and not by a third-party supplier, you'll also be able to activate an option for e-mail messages to be sent only if the domain includes our MX records and this is the most secure option. When you have any questions regarding thisfeature, you'll be able to get in touch with our support crew 24/7.
