A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to nonexistent email addresses. For instance, if your address is [email protected], but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to [email protected], it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a spelling mistake. The downside of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited emails, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also vital to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound email messages to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you’ve got a shared hosting with our company and you would like to enable the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it will take literally only a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can select one single address per domain name by clicking the corresponding button. This will enable the feature straight away, so all emails sent to miswritten email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. If you have enabled email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary notice and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all feature can be activated without effort in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you have created using the domains hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be shown in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll notice a mini button handily situated right next to each of them. With only a single mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this feature through the contextual menu that will come into view. If any of the conditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will warn you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
